Goodyear Wrangler Territory

My first set of aggressive tires were Goodyear Wrangler Territory and I got them on sale at Canadian Tire. I drove out of there with four new Goodyear Wrangler Territorys on the short side of $650 (they were on special) and am very, very happy with my decision.

Make sure that you are looking at the territory model and not the Walmart Authority as the ″Authority″ version is not getting good reviews. It is a cheaper version with a slightly different tread pattern then the Goodyear Wrangler Territory you can find at CanadianTire.

So far they have slightly more road noise then the stock tires, and that’s really the only negative and not really a negative in my opinion as the stereo covers it up anyway. They work very well in the mud.

Deep snow traction is good and hard packed snow is good as well. On ice they are better than what I rolled off the dealer lot with.

Goodyear Wrangler Territory Tires Specifics:

  • Biting edges intensify traction on wet surfaces
  • Lateral grooves feature self-cleaning channels to evacuate snow, water and mud
  • Stability lugs optimized tread blocks help provide traction and stability during start-up
  • Traction Notch Technology enhances all-terrain performance
  • 18/32nds tread depth
  • All sizes pinned for studs
  • Mountain Snowflake rated

The cool thing about getting the Goodyear Wrangler Territory at Canadian Tire is the awesome Warranty. All passenger and light truck tires purchased, installed and balanced at a Canadian Tire Associate Store are covered by a pro-rated Road Hazard Damage and Manufacturing Defects warranty for the life of the useable tread or five years from the date of purchase, whichever comes first. If you get your Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires at Canadian Tire they also come with new rubber valve stems, rotation every 10,000 km and free flat repairs. I think that’s pretty amazing stuff and on top of that, the tires are regularly on special as I mention at the beginning of the article.

Customer Reviews:

“I currently drive a full size 4×4 and I NEED to have a tire that can handle highway driving, gravel roads, snow AND rain!″ – CanadianTire.ca Reviewer

″I took my Goodyear Wrangler Territorys off roading today with about 4 inches of snow and some mud. They performed awesome going up very steep hills and through the mud.
So far so good, but I’ll have to see how they wear.”

″Con’s – They are noisy but as they are quite an aggressive tire that is expected.
I will be taking them offroading in the bush this weekend so I can test the durability.Oh yeah …they look great.”

″Very low end if you ask me… I would not recommend the Goodyear Wrangler Territory (Authority named at Walmart and slightly less quality) to anyone with a 3/4 ton truck and a diesel, I feel its just too much weight and causes the floating feeling the truck gets.″ – actual review from pirate4×4.com″ review at pirate4×4.com

″At the end of the day, lets see a store other than Canadian Tire cover offroad abuse to tires, and give you a free tire at the end of it all. I dont see any place thats gonna sell you duratracs doing that. ″ reviewer at Jeepkings.ca
